Don Endres
Don Endres—Chief Executive Officer

Don Endres serves as Chief Executive Officer of VeraSun Energy Corporation, the leading producer of renewable fuels in the US. As head of VeraSun, which is listed on the New York Stock Exchange, Mr. Endres draws on more than 20 years of experience in building, operating and managing successful businesses.

In 1985, he founded Special Teams, Inc. During his tenure as President and General Manager, Special Teams was recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the U.S. in both 1994 and 1995. After Special Teams was sold to American Express in 1995, Mr. Endres assumed the role of President of American Express Special Teams.

In 1999, Mr. Endres became a principal investor and Board member of CoEv, Inc., a manufacturer of electronic equipment. CoEv, which turned profitable within its first year of operations, later merged with Tyco International Ltd. In 1998, Mr. Endres co-founded and served as CEO of ExpressGold.com, Inc., an Internet payment company, and successfully spearheaded its merger with CyberSource Corporation.

In addition to his role at VeraSun, Mr. Endres has a long history of making valuable contributions to the alternative energy industry at large and continues to actively participate in the growth of this sector. Today, he serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committees of the Renewable Fuels Association (RFA), Alternative Fuel Institute (AFI), and the Enterprise Institute at South Dakota State University. Previously he served as co-founder and Vice-Chairman of Glacial Lakes Energy, an ethanol production facility in Watertown, South Dakota; and was an investor and Board Officer for Badger State Ethanol LLC in Monroe, Wisconsin.

In 2000, Mr. Endres was named "Entrepreneur of the Year" by South Dakota State University's College of Engineering and in 2005 was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Award for "Emerging Entrepreneur." Mr. Endres holds a bachelor of science degree in animal science, with minors in computer science and economics, from South Dakota State University.

Danny Herron
Danny Herron—President and Chief Financial Officer

Danny Herron was named President and Chief Financial Officer of VeraSun Energy in December 2007 after joining the company as the Senior Vice President and CFO in March 2006. Since his arrival, Mr. Herron has played a major role in positioning VeraSun to become the largest ethanol producer in the United States with a production capacity of more than 1.6 billion gallons by the end of 2008.

In July 2007, Mr. Herron led the acquisition of three 110 million-gallon-per-year (MMGY) biorefineries from ASAlliances BioFuels, growing VeraSun's potential capacity from 670MMGY to approximately one billion gallons. Less than four months later, Mr. Herron helped orchestrate the largest merger in the renewable fuels industry when VeraSun announced its intention to merge with US BioEnergy and take on an additional production capacity of 750MMGY and eight biorefineries.

Mr. Herron came to VeraSun from Swift & Company (an HM Capital Partners LLC portfolio company), one of the largest processors of fresh beef and pork in the United States, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2002-06. Previous to Swift & Company, Mr. Herron spent five years with Conagra Beef Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ConAgra, Inc., as the Chief Financial Officer. From 1991-98, Mr. Herron held numerous roles with Borden, Inc., including the position of Operations Controller from 1995-98. Mr. Herron also worked at Frito-Lay, Inc., in various capacities from 1983-91.

A native of Albany, Georgia, Mr. Herron holds a bachelor's of science in business administration and accounting from Valdosta State University, and a MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.

Bob Antoine
Bob Antoine—SVP Human Resources

Bob Antoine joined VeraSun Energy in 2006 with a strong background in human resources at publically traded companies. He came to the company with an expertise in organizational design and goal setting, rewards and recognition systems, performance management, mergers and acquisitions, recruitment and employee and labor relations.

Since joining VeraSun, Mr. Antoine has been responsible for the implementation of a revised company compensation structure and new performance management and incentive plan. He has also led the organizational integration and hiring of more than 700 employees, primarily through the merger and acquisition of US BioEnergy and ASAlliances Biofuels, LLC.

Prior to VeraSun, Mr. Antoine was the Vice President, Human Resources for Forward Air Corporation, a publically-traded company located in Greeneville, Tenn., that serves as a ground-service contractor to the air cargo industry. Previous to working at Forward Air, Mr. Antoine served in a number of key leadership roles where he established and led strong human resources functions in rapidly growing businesses. He was employed by Laidlaw, Inc., for almost 10 years, including seven years with Laidlaw Transit Services, Inc., where he was Vice President of Human Resources. Mr. Antoine also served as Vice President of Human Resources for Calavo Growers of California and Director of Human Resources for a unit of Nestle.

A native of Leawood, Kansas, Mr. Antoine graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor of science in journalism.

Paul Caudill
Paul Caudill—SVP Operations

Paul Caudill joined VeraSun Energy in February 2006 as the company's Senior Vice President, Plant Operations, bringing with him almost 30 years of experience in architecture and engineering design, construction project management, and support service management. Since joining VeraSun, the company has expanded its annual production capacity from 230 million gallons per year to a projected yearly capacity of more than 1.6 billion gallons by the end of 2008. He successfully led the startup of three production facilities in 2007, including VeraSun Charles City which completed start-up operations three months ahead of schedule.

Mr. Caudill joined VeraSun after almost nine years as a senior manager with the Nebraska Public Power District where he was responsible for the company's growth into the ethanol plant energy services market. He was also charged with overseeing personnel and industrial safety, production operations and cost and regulatory performance of one of the state's nuclear generating facilities. Mr. Caudill also held an executive role with Atlantic Services, Inc., for four years before joining the NPPD.

A native of Richland, Washington, Mr. Caudill holds an MBA from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor of science degree in public management from the University of Arizona.

Bill Honnef
Bill Honnef—SVP Strategic Initiatives

A co-founder of VeraSun Energy in 2001, Bill Honnef serves as Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives. He is responsible for the company's industry relations, public policy and government relations, in addition to, coordinating VeraSun's strategic partnership program and overseeing the company's marketing and communications department.

Mr. Honnef played an integral role in launching VeraSun's branded E85, VE85®, and helping to grow its availability to approximately 150 retail locations under contract in 15 states and Washington, D.C. - the first retail E85 fueling location in the nation's capital. Through increased awareness and availability of VE85®, Mr. Honnef headed VeraSun's efforts to form strategic partnerships with Ford Motor Company, and General Motors with the primary goal of educating Flexible Fuel Vehicle owners to the availability and benefits of using E85.

Mr. Honnef currently serves on the Board of Directors for the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) and SunEthanol, Inc., a cellulosic ethanol company, in addition to having served on the Board of Directors for the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition (NEVC). In 2005, Mr. Honnef testified before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on the impact of the Energy Policy Act of 2005.

Prior to VeraSun, Mr. Honnef was the President and co-founder of ExpressGold, Inc., a payment system for brand retailers to issue online gift cards and gift certificates that included clients such as Spiegel, NIKE and Fossil. Prior to that Mr. Honnef joined Special Teams, Inc., a debit-card systems company, in 1993 as a regional sales manager. When Special Teams was sold to American Express in 1995, Mr. Honnef remained for two years as Vice President and assisted in the company's efforts to develop a companion card division.

A native of Tarentum, Pennsylvania, Mr. Honnef holds a degree in information systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where in 2000 he was recognized as the “Eberly School of Business and Information Entrepreneur of the Year.”

Barry Schaps
Barry Schaps—SVP Sales and Logistics

Barry Schaps joined VeraSun in February 2007 and serves as the company's Senior Vice President, Sales & Logistics. He is responsible for developing and implementing operational efficiencies to optimize VeraSun's fleet assets, in addition to handling the company's commodity purchases.

In his role, Mr. Schaps oversees the sales, logistics, and customer service teams focusing on a preferred supplier status for ethanol and distillers grains customers through “best in class” customer service. He also leads the Company's strategy to seek out downstream logistic assets to enable VeraSun to expand ethanol unit train sales, through collaborative efforts with bulk terminal owners, railroads and gasoline marketing companies.

Mr. Schaps has more than 25 years experience leading logistics, supply chain, retail and risk management efforts at various Shell Oil companies in the U.S. Prior to joining VeraSun, he was General Manager of Planning and Portfolio Strategy for Motiva Enterprises, LLC, a refining and marketing joint venture company owned by affiliates of Shell and Saudi Aramco. In that role, Mr. Schaps led the development of Motiva's industry-leading ethanol logistics network. He also worked in other roles at Motiva and Shell Oil Company, including as Manager of Retail Logistics and Supply, Assistant to the CEO, and Manager of Marketing Ventures.

Mr. Schaps earned a BBA degree from the Bernard M. Baruch College of the City University of New York in 1975 majoring in accounting and an MBA in finance from Long Island University in 1980.

Gregory Schlicht
Gregory Schlicht—SVP and General Counsel

Greg Schlicht joined VeraSun Energy as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary in April 2008. He came to the company with expertise in corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, operational matters, and management of outside legal counsel. Mr. Schlicht also manages VeraSun's corporate environmental, health and safety group.

Prior to joining the company, he served in a similar position as US BioEnergy. In that role, he established a corporate legal department; adopted corporate governance practices; completed an initial public offering of common stock valued at $150 million; handled merger and acquisition activity; oversaw major project financing to fund construction of new ethanol plants; and managed all other legal and regulatory matters for US BioEnergy, including corporate environmental, health and safety.

Before US BioEnergy, Mr. Schlicht served as corporate counsel of Westar Energy, Inc., a publicly-traded electric utility company, and Aquila, Inc., a publicly-traded electric and natural gas utility company. He also worked at the law firm of Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin LLP handling mergers, stock and asset acquisitions and divestitures.

A native of Iowa, Mr. Schlicht earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Missouri-Columbia and JD degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, graduating with high honors.
