Keith Bruinsma
Keith Bruinsma—Vice President, Corporate Development

A member of the original group of VeraSun founders in 2001, Keith Bruinsma served as the company's controller and Director of Finance before moving into the role of Director of Business Development in 2006. During that time, he played a key role in developing sites for VeraSun's first operating facilities.

As Vice President of Corporate Development, Mr. Bruinsma is leading VeraSun's efforts to extract oil from dried distiller grains with solubles (DDGS) to be used in the production of biodiesel and the development of low fat, high protein DDGS.

A native of Stickney, South Dakota, Mr. Bruinsma holds bachelor of science degrees from Dakota State University and South Dakota State University. He earned a master's in business administration from Colorado Technical University.

Todd Church
Todd Church—Vice President, Operations and Production Support

Todd Church serves as VeraSun Energy's Vice President, Operations and Production Support. Mr. Church joined the company in March 2007 as the plant manager for VeraSun Welcome. He transitioned to the role of plant manager at Charles City the following month and was an integral part of the startup of the facility three months ahead of schedule. While at Charles City, Mr. Church also served in an interim oversight role of the VeraSun plant feet during the recent acquisition of ASAlliances and the merger with US BioEnergy, leading numerous scheduled plant shutdowns and successful startups of other VeraSun facilities.

Mr. Church joined VeraSun with 17 years of experience in chemical manufacturing and biosciences that included management positions with Olin Corporation and Abengoa Bioenergy. A native of Medical Lake, Washington, Mr. Church holds a bachelor's degree in microbiology with a minor in chemistry from Eastern Washington University and a master's degree in chemical engineering from Washington State University.

Patty Dickerson
Patty Dickerson—Director of Investor Relations

Patty Dickerson joined VeraSun in August 2007 as the company's Director of Investor Relations with more than 15 years experience with publicly traded companies. She is responsible for developing and executing VeraSun's global investor relations program.

Ms. Dickerson came to VeraSun from Ignis Petroleum Group where she held the position of Vice President for External Affairs, Investor Relations and Corporate Secretary. She was responsible for counseling senior executives on corporate and financial communications strategy and execution, served as a spokesperson to the investment community, and coordinated presentations and road shows for financial audiences.

Previous to Ignis, Ms. Dickerson owned Energy Direct Communications, an investor relations and corporate communications company that specializes in working with clients in the energy sector. She spent 27 years with Box Energy Corporation, a NASDAQ company, where she assisted with investor relations, in addition to serving as corporate secretary for the company and several of its subsidiaries.

A native of Dallas, Texas, Ms. Dickerson earned her law degree from the Texas Tech School of Law and her bachelor's degree in government affairs from Texas Woman's University.

Mark Dickey
Mark Dickey—Vice President and Assistant General Counsel

Mark Dickey joined the VeraSun team in the fall of 2007 as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel, with more than 20 years of legal experience, including 14 years in private practice.

In his previous position, Mr. Dickey served as the Vice President, Assistant General Counsel and Assistant Secretary at Gateway, Inc., where he was responsible for handling all legal affairs for the corporate, finance and operations functions. Prior to Gateway, Inc., he worked at Hartzog Conger & Cason, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, private placements of equity and debt securities, tax planning, financing and commercial transactions, licensing and joint ventures.

Mr. Dickey earned his law degree from the University of Oklahoma, his master's of business administration from Wake Forest University, and his bachelor's degree in finance from Oklahoma State University.

Rick Eggebrecht
Rick Eggebrecht—Vice President, Market Development

A co-founder of VeraSun Energy in 2001, Rick Eggebrecht became Vice President of Market Development in January 2007. Mr. Eggebrecht led the development and implementation of VeraSun's unit train business strategy, as well as the Company's efforts in direct marketing and sale of ethanol. Mr. Eggebrecht continues to lead the efforts to expand the availability of VE85®, VeraSun's branded E85, and to implement other strategic initiatives relating to market access and new markets for ethanol.

Prior to being named Vice President, Mr. Eggebrecht held the position of Director of Marketing and Sales from June 2001 to November 2006. During that time, he initiated the successful development and launch of VE85®, the nation's first branded E85 fuel that is now available at more than 90 stations throughout the Midwest and Pennsylvania. Eggebrecht has been instrumental in VE85® education and awareness, and in developing VeraSun's relationships with major automakers for the promotion of E85 and flexible fuel vehicles.

Mr. Eggebrecht, a Wausau, WI, native, graduated from Southwest Minnesota State University with a bachelor of science in business administration and a minor in marketing.

Virg Garbers
Virg Garbers—Vice President and Controller

Virg Garbers joined VeraSun in April 2008 as the company's Vice President and Corporate Controller with more than 15 years of experience in management and public accounting. He is responsible for all aspects of the company's accounting processes.

Mr. Garbers came to VeraSun from US BioEnergy where he also held the title of Vice President and Corporate Controller. There, he was responsible for ensuring strong financial controls and processes through management of budgeting and monthly financial reports. He also played a key role in the company's initial public offering and the integration of various acquisitions.

Before US BioEnergy, he served as Controller at Angus Palm and Assistant Controller at Northwestern Public Service, both based in South Dakota. Mr. Garbers also worked at Cargill as an internal auditor and Price Waterhouse as a senior auditor.

A native of Lake Benton, Minnesota, Mr. Garbers earned a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Paul Kreter
Paul Kreter—Vice President, Ethanol Sales

In his role as Vice President of Ethanol Sales, Paul Kreter is responsible for the development and execution of VeraSun's ethanol sales and distribution strategy.

Mr. Kreter brings a wealth of experience and an impressive 25 year track record in the petrochemical industry. Previously, he served as Senior Account Executive for Methanex Methanol Company, the world's largest producer and marketer of methanol. During his seven-year tenure at Methanex, Mr. Kreter was responsible for sales to some of the largest methanol consumers in the world, including Lyondell, BP, ExxonMobil, and Valero. Mr. Kreter began his career as a research chemist, ultimately transitioning into sales of chemicals and MTBE at ARCO Chemical Co.

Mr. Kreter graduated from the University of California, Riverside with a bachelor of science in Chemistry, and he earned an MBA from the University of Delaware and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Ohio State University.

Bryan Meier
Bryan Meier—Vice President & Chief Accounting Officer

Bryan Meier joined the VeraSun team in the summer of 2007 as Vice President and Controller with more than 20 years of financial executive experience with publicly-traded companies. Mr. Meier also assumed the role of Chief Accounting Officer in March 2008. Previous to VeraSun, Mr. Meier spent six years as the Vice President, Corporate Controller with Viasystems Group, Inc., a global manufacturer of printed circuit boards and electro mechanical service provider. He was a member of the senior management team and responsible for global finance and all aspects of that company's finance and accounting procedures.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Mr. Meier earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting and finance from the University of Missouri.

Kurt Swenson
Kurt Swenson—Vice President, Operations and Engineering Support

Kurt Swenson serves as VeraSun Energy's Vice President, Operations and Engineering Support, a position that he has held since April 2008. He previously served as the company's Vice President, Plant Operations.

Mr. Swenson joined VeraSun as the Plant Manager at VeraSun Aurora, a position he held from 2003 to 2006. He was also the company's Director of Operations until his promotion to Vice President in January 2007. Before joining VeraSun, Mr. Swenson worked in the petroleum refining industry for over 12 years, holding various positions in engineering, construction, maintenance and operations.

As Plant Manager for VeraSun Aurora, Mr. Swenson was a member of the leadership team that commissioned and started the first 100 MMGY greenfield dry grind ethanol facility in the United States. In 2005, he led the expansion project to increase the capacity at the Aurora facility to its current capacity of 120 MMGY. Under his leadership, the Aurora facility has had zero lost time accidents, a Recordable Incident Rate of zero, and zero Federal Reportable Quantity Releases.

Mr. Swenson, a native of Fergus Falls, MN, graduated from North Dakota State University in 1991 with a degree in civil engineering.

Melissa Ullerich
Melissa Ullerich—Vice President, Communications

Melissa Ullerich serves as VeraSun Energy's Vice President, Communications, a position she has held since March 2008. She joined the company in 2005 as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Ms. Ullerich is responsible for spearheading the company's efforts to promote, inform and educate consumers, shareholders and other key stakeholders about the benefits and purpose of using ethanol and VeraSun's mission to be a leading producer of renewable fuels.

Ms. Ullerich brings more than 15 years of marketing experience to VeraSun and a diverse background of working with multiple businesses in a variety of industries. Prior to VeraSun, she worked as a private marketing consultant focused on strategic planning and corporate branding. She also served as Vice President at Communication Design Marketing Consultants in Lincoln, Neb., where she led the company's business development, account service, creative and strategic planning initiatives.

Since joining VeraSun, Ms. Ullerich has led several marketing initiatives involving strategic partnerships with General Motors, Ford and Enterprise Rent-a-Car, in addition to, communications around VeraSun's Initial Public Offering (IPO) in June 2006. She is also responsible for branding efforts around VeraSun's E85 – VE85® - and its growth from seven stations in Sioux Falls to more than 110 stations in 11 states and Washington, D.C., in just over two years.

A Sisseton, S.D. native, Ms. Ullerich graduated from South Dakota State University with a BA in graphic design and a BS in advertising with a minor in marketing.

A member of the American Marketing Association, Public Relations Society of America, and American Advertising Federation, Ms. Ullerich also currently serves on the board of directors for the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council (EPIC) and the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition (NEVC).

Bryan Meier
Joel West—Vice President of Risk Management

Joel West joined VeraSun in April 2008 as the company's Vice President of Risk Management with almost 15 years of experience in managing commodity and risk positions. He is responsible for overseeing all grain and energy risk positions necessary for production at VeraSun's biorefineries and development of an overall margin management approach.

Mr. West came to VeraSun from US BioEnergy. There, he had oversight for all commodity trading and margin management, distillers grain marketing and transportation functions. He also managed relationships with joint venture partners for ethanol marketing.

Before US BioEnergy, Mr. West spent 12 years at Cargill in increasingly responsible assignments. Among those duties, he managed grain trading positions for various grains in three states; oversaw grain origination and storage in the Southwest region; and established customer relationships for products such as wheat, corn, soybeans and cottonseed.

A native of Peterson, Minnesota, Mr. West earned a bachelor's degree in economics from St. Olaf College.
